This issue: we look at artist and designer Lauren Altman and how she has successfully combined both her loves in a sustainable, slow fashion label. Dana Bandi, too, is a slow fashion label that we profile, while Emily Makare’s Cantermelon creates phone chains with a difference—they support a social enterprise. Our spring 2025 collection round-up appears with labels from Paris, Milano, and New York. We have incredible shoots from the team of Lindsay Adler, Cannon, Linh Nguyen and Joanne Gair, including one where we recall Hollywood icons Josephine Baker, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Diana Ross. Sopheak Seng, Louise Hatton and Hil Cook present their shoot, ‘My Good Judy’, a tribute to jeweller Judy Blame and the late, great Derek Elvy, featuring vintage pieces from Derek’s collection. Jody Miller has her finger on the pulse for what’s in for beauty. Jack Yan profiles photographer Mabrouk Othman in Dubai. Where did the celebs go in 2024? We look at international events and who nabbed the headlines—and just how did the Kardashian–Jenner clan get to where they are? Finally, we have two stories from Thailand: Elyse Glickman immerses herself in the south of the country, while Jack Yan and Amanda Satterthwaite find an oasis in the capital.

Autocade is for the car enthusiast who isn’t impressed merely by horsepower and torque figures, but by the automobile’s place in society and history.

Year of Cars 2025 captures the Zeitgeist of the global automotive landscape, guiding you through this world’s rapid changes, examining significant models, relevant history, design, marketing, and trends for the year ahead. Inside, you’ll find thoughtful commentary, beautiful imagery, and detailed research.

Beautifully presented in a hardcover volume with a dust jacket, Year of Cars 2025 is ideal for your own reference or as a gift to the car lover in your life.

Praise for the 2025 edition

‘… a proper old-school anthology that takes an eclectic look at all things car-related’—Mark Dixon, in Octane

‘In the great tradition of automotive annuals, Autocade is packed with great reading …’—Giles Chapman, automotive industry authority and award-winning writer

Praise for the 2024 edition

‘A genuine collector’s item. You won’t want to put it down.’—William Woollard, historian, producer and former Top Gear presenter

‘Autocade is in the grand tradition of beautifully produced annuals like World Cars, Car Design Yearbook, Autocourse and Auto Universum, yet offers a deep read for the road car devotee like nothing else I’ve seen. It helps you take stock of this rapidly changing automotive world, provokes thought, and feeds the appetite for insight. That it’s been made tangibly real from a digital background only reiterates the big-hearted passion behind it.’—Giles Chapman, automotive industry authority and award-winning writer

Covering a range of cars from the Perodua Axia E to a unique Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII, we present the second Autocade Yearbook, Year of Cars 2025.

We learned from your feedback, and honed what a good yearbook is all about: a reference you could return to through the year as it plays out.

We’ve again included beautiful imagery. There’s more of a voice on interesting automotive subjects that we think mark the Zeitgeist.

We cover market trends such as the new push for aerodynamics and Chinese luxury: surely this is the time for them, coming up with brands more quickly than you could once have said Acura, Infiniti, Lexus three decades ago. We have spotlights on the Ford Capri, Renault 4 E-Tech, Lamborghini Temerario, and the Dodge Charger. We pay tribute to the late Marcello Gandini and offer a guide to his production designs. And just who are today’s designer names?

You’ve searched for the Opel Astra J more than any other model on our website (Ford Taunus 80 in last year’s Yearbook excepting), so we take a closer look. Since economic times are tough, we glance at some historical recession specials.

More pages, more photos and more considered writing. This year, it’s even more lavish in hardcover format with a dust jacket.

Autocade Year of Cars 2025: bigger, longer, harder.

Printed in the UK, 144 pp. on 150 g/m² stock, plus cover. Hardcover, case bound, with dust jacket. Dispatch takes place a minimum of three working days from the time of your order.
